” Working with John Farnham of Premier Remodeling & Design Build has been a great experience from the very start. In our initial meeting with John, we were immediately impressed with his thoughtful and straightforward approach to our renovation projects, not to mention his calm and confident manner. We had a good feeling about the potential for a working relationship, and it worked out even better than we anticipated. As first-time home owners and new to the renovation process, we had many questions. All of our questions – even the most basic – were answered promptly and thoroughly, and we really felt like we were in good hands. John was always available to personally attend to concerns, and still is.
Our home, although well cared for, had not been renovated in 50 years, so we undertook significant mechanical upgrades, which were seamlessly executed by John’s subcontractors, in addition to a kitchen remodeling that involved removing 2 bearing walls and re-thinking the space completely. All of this was completed to the highest standards without compromise. John and our designer worked closely together with us to bring our house to today’s standards, and we could not be more pleased with the outcome. We have several other major projects to complete in years to come, and we look forward to working with John and his skilled team to complete them. ” C.C.
” I had the pleasure of collaborating with Premier Remodeling & Design Build on a multi year project in New Canaan, CT. After being introduced through the client, I immediately knew we were in good hands and that the renovation would work out well. My expectations were exceeded on every level and I do not hesitate on recommending JP and his team. The care and attention that this project received was unsurpassed. Where necessary, there was always a great, better and even better solution to any design dilemma- something all on the team appreciated. Further, while every project has a punch list, this punch list actually was completed in a time-efficient manner allowing us to install furnishings with ease, and allowing the clients to move in with young kids in tow, and no worries.
I sincerely appreciate a contractor who thinks things through and takes the time to understand the design intent and work for the best result, every time. Nothing ever seemed to be a hassle, a or a request too many. The final results speak for themselves, a beautiful home was delivered to a happy client, and professional peers saw the results and shared them in NE Home Magazine in Fall of 2013. The entire team was a pleasure to work with and I have since recommended their services to other clients without hesitation.” Kathleen Walsh, Kathleen Walsh Interiors, LLC.
” I have worked with many builders throughout more 25+ years of being in the design and building business, and John Farnham (JP). JP is one of the very best. He is highly experienced, conscientious, and totally ethical and honest. His wealth of hands-on knowledge, along with the loyal and excellent team of craftsmen JP has assembled, deliver our clients a top-rate project. JP’s calm and reassuring personality helps people feel comfortable throughout what can sometimes be a stressful (although exciting) process.” Judy Larson, Gardiner and Larson Homes
” We interviewed countless general contractors before deciding to work with Premier Remodeling & Design Build. Aside from reviewing their work and recommendations, there were a number of attributes that we found particularly important when making our decision to work with JP and his team. His personality and ability to communicate with the homeowner immediately set him apart from the crowd. Of course, skill, attention to detail, dependability, and honesty were of paramount importance to us and his ability to explain complex building/design concepts in layman’s terms helped us understand what was going to happen behind the scenes, allowing us to make more informed decisions. As we were interviewing prospective GC’s, we appreciated JP’s willingness to provide such a thorough budget estimate after having walked through the house during our first visit. This exemplified to us how confident JP is in his work and his detailed budget breakout immediately set him apart from the pack.
I should mention that we were made to feel comfortable enough to openly discuss budgetary limits with him, the expert, and a relationship was developed where we could collectively discuss the pros/cons of each concept the architect proposed. Along those same lines, JP even proposed ideas of his own (like the two-way laundry closet between our master dressing room and the laundry room) and he learned our style relatively quickly, building our home while being attentive to our budget, but without cutting corners on the details… we truly felt JP’s attention to detail was exceptional. He gave ideas that were specific to us and his honesty about the project and our budgetary limitations helped set him apart. What made our life significantly easier throughout this process was both JP’s dependability and how well he worked with the architect – I’ve heard horror stories of builders having one vision for build quality and architects wanting something a little different, typically due to poor communication on behalf of the builder. We loved how seamlessly they worked together, ensuring the architect’s vision (as well as our own!) was accurately brought to life. His constant communication let us know we weren’t just “another client”. JP was always available and if something went wrong during the project or a detail wasn’t exactly how we had imagined, he stepped up to the plate and took care of it, even if of no fault of his team.
I suppose the last thing I should mention, which certainly matters and we came to appreciate, was Premier’s competitive pricing… We knew that we wanted to work with the best and anticipated paying on the higher end of the spectrum – that being said, we were pleased with how competitive JP’s pricing was vs his upper-echelon peers… this was more/less the icing on the cake. Premier Design Build is top-notch and deserves every bit of accolade that they receive.” Brooke Santulli
